  • Guided tour of the Roman bath ruins

In the distant past in what was then called Aquae Aureliae (Baden-Baden), it was the Romans who constructed the first bathing facilities in order to benefit from the thermal water. One of these baths, the so-called Soldiers’ Bath, is located directly beneath today’s Friedrichsbad.

Take a tour and become immersed in a bygone age in which you will discover the origins of thermal bathing at close quarters. While strolling past Roman walls and through a fantastically preserved bathing complex you will experience more than 2000 years of history.

You are more than welcome to book a tour with an experienced guide or you can trace the past for yourself with the aid of an audio guide.

Our next guided tour will take place on 10 September at 2pm. Duration: 45 minutes, price: €4 per person. Reservations by telephone: + 49 (0) 7221 / 27 59-34.
